A note from the Midwife
I feel blessed to be called to the profession of midwifery. It is truly an honor and privilege to assist women/couples in the most powerful and spiritual event in a person's lives. I practice out of a deep desire to serve birthing women, to act as a guardian of the normal process of birth and to help facilitate women’s transformation in the process. To accomplish this, I practice in a manner that encourages as much contact as possible between the pregnant parents and myself during the prenatal period. Closeness, confidence, and trust, established during the pregnancy, help woman through labor and birth. This same support continues on into the postnatal period. A connection of the heart is established that goes beyond a simple business relationship.
The full fee for services with This Midwife is $4800 and is due by 36 weeks gestation. A non-refundable deposit of $500 is paid on or before the initial prenatal visit and is applied to the full fee. The remaining $4,300 is due by 36 weeks.
If the Full Fee of $4800 is paid by 36wk a $300 discount will be extended toward total fee. This will drop the Total Cost from $4800 to $4500.
Bundle includes:
Routine prenatal care which includes 30-minute-long appointments with the midwife on a typical OB schedule, approximately once per month until 28 weeks, then bi-weekly until 36 weeks, then weekly till birth.
24 hr phone access to the midwives for medical concerns throughout pregnancy and postpartum
Standard prenatal lab testing including CBC, CMP, ABO, Rh factor with antibodies, hepatitis screen, RPR, rubella screen, HIV and STDs
Gestational diabetes screening at 28wks as well as a CBC to ensure you are not becoming anemic
Group beta strep screening at 35-36wks
Labor, Delivery and postpartum recovery & monitoring at home
○ Water birth if desired
Initial Breastfeeding support after birth
Routine Postpartum care for mom and baby
Care after Birth/During Postpartum period
Mother
Home visit* and assessment by your midwife 24-72 hrs postpartum
Home visit* by lactation consultant, day 3-5 (additional home visits by a Lactation consultant available for an additional charge.)
Office visit with Midwife at 1wk, 2wk, 4wk and or 6wk
Baby
Complete newborn physical on day of birth
CCHD screening for possible heart defects
Home visit* and assessment 24-72 hrs after birth
Office visit with Midwife at 1wk, 2wk, 4wk and or 6wk
Bundle Does Not Include
Additional non-routine lab work or other testing like non-stress tests, additional fetal monitoring, Pap Smear if needed
Non-routine appointments arising from complications
Miscellaneous charges from labor if needed
Vitamin K, erythromycin, if Rh-negative blood type- Rhogam for Mom and blood type and screen for baby
