Traveling: Haiti

My mission trip to Haiti was one I will never forget and I have often revisited, and I cannot wait to return. While I was in Haiti my team that consisted of one nurse three three translators, two other team members that held a bible school and myself. We held different clinics all over Haiti where we served over 1000 community members. We provided a variance of care, anything from nutritional counseling, cleaning wounds, hand out vitamins, take vitals, and much more. The people of Haiti are in need of many things, but they are not in need of love, they shared their heart with me and I was honored to receive what they had to give and it is my heart to one day return and give what I have gleaned back to them.

Supporting Family

I am passionate about family because it takes time and energy away from furthering the individual goal and fostering a continually changing relationship that is an investment in the future. When you put your time, energy and hard work into building a relationship with family you invest in something that lasts through thick and thin. The title of family can be extended to the community around you. Building a community not only with your flesh and blood but extending it out to those around you and the people you survey is a key part of my life. I believe when you show love to people through time spent together in the hard seasons of life and the joyous times that the relationship lasts a lifetime.

Teaching

I LOVE TEACHING! Sharing my knowledge of natural birth, health and wellness, hands on teaching with EMT's, midwife students, midwives, and other birth workers is so fulfilling. Even when teaching means I get to be a pin cushion...yep love it!

Running The Extra Mile

I titled this photo running the extra mile because this is a photo I took after a full shift as a student phlebotomist at a hospital, from where I traveled two hours away to support a family who's baby was born four months premature and in the NICU. I feel so honored when family's want me to be apart of there health care and recover journey. This photo and experience convey my personal goal of living out what I am teach and believe.
